The Great Club Cash Con
The Club have recently stated that Club Cash balances will now expire on 1 September 2017.

For those of us who chose to renew our season tickets early to be in with a chance of relocating, this would mean that we will effectively lose any Club Cash earned between the point of renewal on 13 March and the end of this season.

Given, to my knowledge, the Club have never published full terms and conditions for Club Cash, only FAQs (https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2017/february/06-february/club-cash-faqs) with no mention of expiration dates, this approach seems completely unreasonable and tantamount to theft!

Theres what youll get for your tickets, for example the club will give you £10.91 for a band 5 cat b, then resell for £31....Band 4 you get £20.39, they resell for £46 etc etc

OtB. Cheers. I wasn't 100% sure. It can be very low sometimes, I've seen people on the internet giving examples of what their ticket sold for compared to what they got for it. Anyway. It looks the people who complained, and maybe that new supporters trust have done some good here, and got them to change it. Though I have a feeling someone posting up on kumb the relevant company/contract law they'd broken by introducing it might have played a part, too.

Stranded - I believe so. I did it a couple of times last season and got money off my ST this season. My mate got £25 for his Everton ticket so it's not always low.

Regardless of my perceived defence of the Club, I'm looking at this objectively. It isn't cash, it's credit. When I get a refund on something at B&Q my credit expires.

September is obviously a bit cunty, people have moaned and they've changed it. Good on those people.

Not at all, but it requires that you're able to read and understand without your issues kicking in and you having a scweam.

There may always have been an expiry - I wouldn't know. I'd be surprised if there wasn't. Changing the expiry they put in recently doesn't mean there never was one, does it?

I'm not defending anything, just employing some common sense.

You have no idea if there ever was an expiry despite this thread and a public climbdown from the club about THERE BEING A FUCKING EXPIRY which they have now extended?

Are you some kind of lapdog idiot savant or something? You seem oblivious to what you're defending them over but do it anyway?

Absolutely bizarre behaviour.

Re: The Great Club Cash Con
OtB. It’s not something I’ve ever used. But isn’t the way it works that you list your ticket and the club then sets the price. And when someone buys your ticket, for cash money paid to the club, the club then passes on a very low percentage of the sale price in the form of ‘Club Cash’, only redeemable against purchases made from them. And that now they’ve introduced this, it means that if you don’t buy things from them quickly enough, they just erase your balance?

Like I said, I haven’t used it, so I may have misunderstood some aspect of it?

Re: The Great Club Cash Con
It's different to a bank and an insurance company too.

I've got no idea if there ever was an expiry, but it'd make sense to me that there should be - although you'd hope it was more reasonable than the start of the next season. Two seasons or something?

That's a good idea. They get their ideas on here so expect to see it implemented soon ;)

Re: The Great Club Cash Con
Slightly different otb? Clubcard etc are loyalty schemes. The ticket exchange is actively selling your tickets for ££ paid in club credits. There should deffo be no expiry, however IF they wanted to control it why not put a limit on it? Say £200 then it has to be spent before you can start using again...

Re: The Great Club Cash Con
Had to make my own, Dan. Tight fuckers. Although my ST is free so I shouldn't complain.

penners - do your Tesco Clubcard vouchers last forever? Do gift vouchers?

Johnson - I've got no idea if that's the reason, it's a guess. I'm just trying to add some balance to other guesses.

Obvious you'd be the one scrambling about trying to cobble together a defence.

*till beeps as shopper’s card is rejected*

SA: I’m sorry, Sir. This transaction has been declined by your bank

S: But how can that be? There's more than enough in the account to cover it.

SA: Nothing to be embarrassed about, SIr. It’s been happening a lot lately. Ever since the banks introduced their new ’Stopping you accumulating loads of money’ facility.

S: What’s that?

SA: Well, Sir. It’s a service where, at the end of every twelve months of banking, the bank removes any pounds or pence left in your account.

S: What do you mean?

SA: Well, let’s say you have £11,856.74 in your account at the end of a year. With this new facility, the bank removes it for you.

S: To stop me accumulating loads of money?

SA: To stop you accumulating loads of money. It’s totally free of charge.

S: I didn’t hear anything about this?

SA: As I understand it. It was such a selfless act of giving on the part of the banks, that they felt publicising it would be .. well .. to go against the spirit of the thing.

S: Truly, what a wonderful age we live in.

SA: Glad I could be of assistance, Sir.

S: Actually, let me have a bunch of those flowers, I have enough change to pay for them.

SA: For your bank manager?

S: That’s right! How ever did you know?

SA: We get a lot of people saying that, SIr. And do pop back in when you’ve the funds available for your wife’s medicine.

I'm just keen that the club acts lawfully in its contractual dealings with customers.

Re: The Great Club Cash Con
WHUISA are reporting that the Club has seen sense and will be extending the deadline for use of Club Cash until the end of the 2017/18 season.

So common sense has hopefully prevailed, but why does the Clubhave to get it so wrong initially!

Apparently the club have seen the error of their ways and the expiry deadline is now end of next season.
